After a weekend filled with more Twitter tomfoolery, Elon Musk has finally "deleted" his account on the social network.

The 47-year-old Tesla CEO made his avatar pitch black, changed his display name to "Daddy DotCom" and tweeted that he had deleted his account in the wee hours of Monday morning.

We'll have to wait and see if Musk is actually serious about getting off Twitter. The move came after a weekend filled with bizarre and somewhat controversial tweets from the tech billionaire, the most notable of which involved video game fan art, of all things.

On Saturday, Musk tweeted fan art of protagonist 2B from the video game Nier: Automata. He offered little in the way of context and absolutely nothing in the way of credit for artist Meli Magali, even when pressed on the issue in responses to the tweet.

This isn't the first time Musk has gotten in trouble over uncredited artwork. He also came under fire for using an illustration of a farting unicorn last year without crediting artist Tom Edwards.

Musk eventually deleted all of his tweets on the subject, but Kotaku captured screenshots for posterity. He posted a number of other theoretically funny tweets over the weekend, such as a series of memes about bees.

At least he didn't accuse someone of pedophilia this time.
