Move over Barack Obama, Pete Souza's got a new president to photograph. (Just kidding, Obama. Please don't leave.)
To mark the return of Netflix's political drama, House of Cards, the streaming company enlisted the help of very talented photographer and professional Instagram shade thrower, Pete Souza, to shoot promo shots for Season 5.
On Monday, while President Trump was visiting the Middle East, Souza (who was Obama's photographer for years) followed House of Cards stars Kevin Spacey and Michael Kelly around Washington D.C. and snapped some epic candid shots.

With all the years he spent photographing the Obama family, it's no surprise that Souza did a remarkable job of bridging the gap between television with reality. "It was a pleasure working with Kevin and Michael and photographing them around some of D.C.’s most recognizable locations," Souza said in a statement to AdWeek. “Whether photographing the real president or a fictitious presidential character, it’s an exciting experience."
Who knows, when he's not busy igniting heartbreaking Obama nostalgia on social media perhaps he can make a guest appearance on House of Cards.

Back in 2015 House of Cardsalso ran the "FU 2016" campaign for Frank Underwood, complete with ads for the fictional politician amidst an IRL Republican presidential debate.
The 13-episode Season 5, which seems abit toorealistic given America's current political climate, is set to stream on Netflix on Tuesday, May 30.
