As of 3:40 p.m. EST, VoteCastr’s estimated turnout in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin is lagging slightly behind 2012 totals. In Florida, however, estimated turnout in 2016 has already surpassed the total number of ballots cast in 2012.
The polls will remain open for many more hours in all of these states. A very high proportion of Florida’s voters cast their ballots early, though, which likely accounts for the relatively high numbers we’re seeing out of the state right now.
